About Jessica

I started in the Healing Arts in 2003 as a body-based practitioner. I practiced massage, reiki, meditation, yoga, and studied intuition. As a fun aside, I also created and ran a chocolate company for many years.

In the beginning years as a practitioner, I was carrying a lot of trauma with me, which created immense emotional pain. I have always related to the mythology of Chiron, the wounded healer. I believe it was my desire to create healing in others that led me to heal myself.

When I found Brainspotting, my world dramatically changed. I went from managing anxiety to living free from anxiety. My yoga, meditation, and energy healing practices have given me tremendous resources, and Brainspotting opened the door to discoveries that have changed my life.

In many ways, I was blind to the ways my history affected my stress, my self-critical voice, my health, and my ability to experience joy. One of the things I want to convey to clients is just how different life can be, once the unconscious triggers are released.

Now in my day-to-day life, I have peace. I feel at ease. Life isn’t perfect, but my main experience is self-honoring. I have also cultivated a very strong sense of self-love. It might sound trite, but it truly makes all the difference. I feel freer to be myself.

Because I have healed my trauma and negative self-beliefs, I know how to walk clients through the process. Certainly, I am trained and practiced in using the tools. Beyond that, I am able to hold clients’ hands and hold hope. I have the gumption to advocate for their joy, because I know daybreak is just over the horizon.

Dr. Gabor Mate, a leading expert on trauma:

“ Every human being has a true, genuine, authentic self and their trauma is the disconnection from it. The healing is the reconnection with it.

Trauma is not the things that happened to you, but what happens inside of you as a result of what happen to you.”

To heal, we have to be willing to see the beauty of who we are. We have to let go of the lies that limit us.

We all have hurt, trauma, and difficult times. While it is not your fault that it happened, it is your responsibility to heal so that you can find freedom. You are responsible for moving forward, despite the difficulties of the past. That said, we are not meant to face these things alone. Let me help you walk through to the other side.

The only way out (and the fastest way out) is through.
